Application characteristics of plasma light source in plant growth lighting
Application characteristics of plasma light source (LEP) in plant growth illumination
——Improved yield, restored the most authentic taste, and reduced pest infestations
PAR is the spectral range in which plants can absorb sunlight. Plants require different ratios of red to blue light during different growth stages. Generally, plants require blue light at 400-500nm during the early stages of growth and red light at 600-700nm during the flowering stage.
The characteristic of LEP used for plant lighting is the continuous full spectrum accompanying the entire process of plant growth. It can adjust the elements inside the lamp bead according to the characteristics of different plants, emitting a spectrum suitable for plant growth. The red blue light ratio can also be changed by adjusting the RF energy. To achieve the goal of increasing crop yield and reducing growth cycles.
A study has compared the effects of a 230W plasma light source (LEP) and a 600W high-pressure sodium lamp (HPS) on plant growth illumination.
In the early stages of plant development, compared to plants under HPS, plants under plasma light have tighter inter node spacing, grow more vigorously, faster, and more.
Throughout the entire flowering and fruiting process of plants, plasma light sources can penetrate deep into the plant canopy, allowing for sustained growth and excellent fruit yield.
The following figure shows the experimental planting of tomatoes, comparing 230W LEP with 600W HPS. Equal management was carried out on the environment, watering and fertilizing of plants in two tents of the same size. The experimental results show that the 230W plasma light source is far superior to the 600W HPS in terms of nutritional performance and flowering fruit. Tomatoes under plasma not only have a beautiful appearance and uniform individual size, but also have a particularly rich taste. In addition, no spider mite infestation was detected on the plants.
Experimental results:Plants grown under LEP light not only increase yield and restore the most authentic taste of fruits and vegetables, but also reduce pest infestations. LEP is currently the best light source among all plant growth lighting technologies.
The following are the comparison results of LEP and HPS in tomato and lettuce growth lighting:
