Plasma light source(LEP) leads technological innovation in solar simulators

When discussing solar simulators, most focus only on matching sunlight's intensity and color temperature, overlooking the most critical element - spectral range. This is precisely where xenon lamps and LED-based simulators fall short.

Plasma light sources, technically termed Light-emitting Plasma (LEP), represent the closest full-spectrum match to sunlight. Only three companies globally possess this core technology: one in the US, one in the UK, and China's CASM.

LEP covers 290nm-1800nm with continuous spectral distribution, matching noon sunlight's color temperature. Its spectral composition precisely mirrors solar radiation: 9% UV, 68% visible light (with identical red/green/blue ratios to sunlight), and 23% IR.

Despite its compact size (0.4 cm³), LEP delivers exceptional brightness - 25,000 lumens output, achieving 114,100 lux at 15cm distance and 28,000 lux at 120cm (equivalent to midday summer sunlight).

With irradiance exceeding 1000W/m² and intensity over 1.0 sun, LEP meets Class AAA standards for spectral match, stability, and uniformity in solar simulation.

Plasma light sources utilize electrodeless bulb technology, operating without flicker. With a 97 CRI rating, they exhibit minimal light decay — maintaining over 80% luminous efficacy after 50,000 hours of continuous use — while preserving stable color temperature throughout.

Superior to xenon lamps and LED technologies, plasma light sources represent the new generation of solar simulation.
